Milk
Link is the UK’s most progressive integrated dairy
business. Entirely owned by British dairy farmers,
we employ around 1,600 people at nine processing
facilities and in 2006/07 generated a turnover of
over £500m.
Our vision is to build the UK’s leading
farmer-owned dairy products business. We aim to
create a long term, sustainable future for our
farmer Members through: Enabling them to benefit
from a secure outlet for their milk; and,
providing them with the additional margins
available from processing their milk into
added-value dairy products.
Milk Link is the UK’s largest producer of cheese,
making a comprehensive range of award-winning
British cheeses. We supply all the UK’s major food
retailers, as well as many of its largest food
processors and food service organisations.
We also manufacture a wide range of dairy products
including long life milk and creams, extended
shelf life products, flavoured milks, custards,
milk powders, soft cheeses and cultured
ingredients.
Our company structure is simple. We have a
Consumer Products division which encompasses The
Cheese Company, Milk and Creams and our Export
business. We also have an Ingredients division
which produces ingredients for a wide range of
own-label and branded goods as well as fresh dairy
products for the retail market through our
Staplemead Dairy Products joint venture.
The Cheese Company is the UK’s largest cheese
manufacturer, producing over 20 varieties of award
winning cheddars, Blue Stiltons and British
regional cheeses for the retail, food service and
ingredients sectors. The company employs over
1,000 staff across four cheese and dairy
processing facilities and its consumer packing
facility at Oswestry, Shropshire.
Milk Link produces a wide variety of delicious
tasting milk products for the retail sector and
has strong business partnerships with major
multiples and food service organisations. We are
the largest producer of long life milk in the UK
and also produce a range of high quality extended
shelf life, functional and flavoured milks.
